Honey Hoisin Pork Riblets

My husband makes the most amazing ribs you'll ever eat.

But these aren't his ribs.
I can't even compete with him and his ribs, so I only make these when he's unable to cook for whatever reason (like when he was sick this week).

This recipe will satisfy your rib craving, but doesn't take an entire day to make (like someone else's rib recipe I know...)

Adapted from Epicurious

3 1/2 pounds pork spare ribs, cut into individual ribs
1/3 cup honey
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 large garlic clove, minced
1/3 cup hoisin sauce
1/2 teaspoon dijon mustard
1/4 cup distilled white vinegar

Bring a pot of salted water to boil, toss in the ribs and let simmer for 30 minutes, covered. Remove from water and drain well (or dry with a paper towel).
Combine all remaining ingredients in a bowl and mix well.
Add ribs to marinade, toss to coat and refrigerate for an hour or more.
Set your oven to broil. Place marinated ribs in a baking dish, and brush with more marinade.
Put ribs on highest rack in oven (only a few inches away from the broiler). Broil for 3-5 minutes. Turn them over, brush with marinade, and continue to broil for another few minutes until browned well and glazed. Discard marinade.Pin It
